 North American Produce was founded January 18th, 1960 by Morris Shoom and has been operating out of the Ontario Food terminal in Toronto since its inception. Mr. Shoom's exceptional passion and knowledge of the produce business combined with his equally generous nature laid the foundation for the family owned and operated business that exists today. Mr. Shoom passed away in December 2002.
His legacy, North American Produce Buyers Ltd. entered its second generation under the direction of his son-in-law Howard Davidson. Howard the current president of North American Produce has been a market fixture for over 20 years. Arriving at the start of business in the early hours of the morning Howard continues to provide leadership to the next generation. Howard's sons Larry and Steven joined the family business in 1998 and 2000 respectively. Larry and Steven now manage the growing operations procuring top quality fruit and vegetables from all corners of the world. |
